As we drive up the road from the village to our luxury chalets, we fondly recall the day we first arrived here. Impressive, breathtaking, and unforgettable. Leogang is a special natural gem, unparalleled in every season. We believe we've found the best spot in Austria for our luxury chalets .
Leogang and its "sister" Saalfelden are centrally located in the impressive mountain world of Pinzgau in the Salzburg region: characterized on the one hand by the breathtaking massif of the Leogang Steinberge and the Steinernes Meer and on the other hand by the gentle landscape of the Pinzgau Grasberge.
Due to its proximity to the city of Salzburg and the Tyrolean and Bavarian borders, Leogang is easily accessible by car, train, or plane. We are also happy to organize a helicopter shuttle upon request.
WITH PIONEERING SPIRIT AND TRADITION
Almost 55 years ago, the foundation for tourism development was laid with the construction of the Leogang cable car in 1971. What's special about this story is that the entire project wasn't financed through bank loans, but rather by the people of Leogang as equity investors.
In its first winter of 1971/1972, the double cable car only went as far as the mid-station; banks were only willing to provide credit for the necessary extension to the Asitz with additional private guarantees. 11 courageous individuals – Albert Steidl, Sebastian Madreiter, Anton Madreiter, Hans Mariacher, Herbert Seer, Leonhard Mühlauer, Sepp Altenberger, Kaspar Fischbacher, Jakob Ritter, Hans Hörl, Siegfried Rieder, and Matthäus Obwaller – came forward and their guarantee actually lasted until September 1996. Today, the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski circus , with 270 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes, 70 modern lifts, and more than 60 excellent huts, is one of the best skiing and hiking destinations in Europe.
The solidarity and the desire to create something extraordinary for guests has paved the way for Leogang to develop into a top destination - from exceptional outdoor activities to the finest cuisine, shopping and spa offerings.
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
In winter, skiing and snowboarding take center stage. The Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski area is one of the best ski regions in Europe.
Those who enjoy hiking are in good hands here, with 400 km of hiking trails. For those who prefer exploring the mountains by bike, Leogang is one of Austria's most famous biking regions.
Two panoramic golf courses delight passionate golfers, and horse riding fans are also well catered for.
There are interesting climbing areas for all climbers, as well as one of the most modern climbing halls in Salzburg.
Whitewater sports fans will get their money's worth here with kayaking, rafting, canyoning, and canoe trekking.
Cultural highlights such as ALM:KULTUR, the Stoaberg March, and the "Out of Bounds Festival" attract international visitors to Leogang. Of particular interest are the Gothic treasures in the Mining and Gothic Museum and the show mine.
