Tip: Hike to the hermitage
The hike to the hermitage is an impressive and easy tour, and it's worth taking a short break at the hermit's residence. The Saalfelden hermitage, at 1,006 meters above sea level, was built in the 17th century into the rocks above Lichtenberg Castle and also features a small chapel. It is the last inhabited hermitage in Europe. We value the hermitage as a place of peace and a "resting place for the soul" with magnificent views.
Tip: Stick sharing
At the pole-sharing service, wooden hiking poles in various sizes are waiting to be borrowed. After the tour, simply return them to the designated holders. These can be found in front of the Saalfelden Leogang Tourist Board offices, at the valley and mountain stations of the Asitzbahn cable car, and at the Bürgerau, Bachwinkl, and Inschlag hiking trailheads.

Leogang is one of Europe's leading biking destinations : With the famous Epic Bike Park Leogang, spectacular singletrack trails, and an extensive e-bike and mountain bike network, the region offers endless possibilities on two wheels. Beginners and pros alike will find varied routes – from flowing lines to challenging downhill trails. Bikes are available to you free of charge at the chalet at any time.
At Leogang's Asitz, the mountain of the senses, everything revolves around the big and small, loud and quiet, fast and slow experiences that allow the body to feel with all of its senses.
Tip: Steinberge tour
The approximately 70-kilometer route circumnavigates the Leogang and Lofer Steinberge massif. It's a leisurely e-bike tour through the valley, along the Steinberge mountains and past small lakes. Numerous e-bike charging stations are located along the route. The start and finish is the Asitzbahn valley station. The paved bike path initially leads gently downhill to Lenzing. From there, the route continues towards Weißbach and Lofer. From here, the route heads towards Waidring and then on to St. Ulrich am Pillersee, where you should definitely take a moment to enjoy the magnificent scenery. The route continues through the Wiesensee Valley back to Hochfilzen. Once you reach Hochfilzen, the return journey to Leogang begins. From there, it's almost entirely downhill, allowing you to relax and enjoy the tour. The Steinberg Loop can be ridden in both directions.

For the brave, we recommend the
Flying Fox XXL. This spectacular 1.6-kilometer-long steel cable slide from the Stöcklalm down into the valley is also open in winter. Glide down at 130 km/h. Adrenaline rush and breathtaking views of the Leogang mountains are included.
A hit – the helicopter tour: Discovering the region from a bird's eye view is simply an unforgettable experience! You're right in the middle of the rugged, striking cliffs of the Steinernes Meer and the Leoganger Steinberge, flying through these mighty mountain ranges, over rolling grassy mountains, and overlooking deep-blue lakes.
For those who enjoy playing tennis or a round of squash, the Hotel Krallerhof
There are two publicly accessible squash courts, and the Hotel Brandlhof offers three tennis courts and two squash courts. Three clay courts await all passionate tennis players at the Leogang leisure complex.

For all horse lovers: Not so long ago, farmers in the Leogang Valley still used horses. The state-run Noriker breeding program and many Haflinger breeders in Leogang and Saalfelden receive annual awards for their outstanding work. Traditional horse-riding events—such as the "Leonhardiritt"—are well worth a visit! There are several riding opportunities in the area, including hour-long, half-day, and full-day rides on Haflinger and warmblood horses.
The 1.6 km long summer toboggan run is especially fun for the whole family. On this action-packed descent, you'll pass 345 meters of elevation, 61 curves, and three super jumps. You can control the speed yourself with the gearshift.
